My First Blog

How it all started

Affiliate Marketing was something i didn't come to lightly. In fact it took me a long time to even take the first step. That's time I won't get back.

It started with a single TikTok post that I watched about a side hustle. I can't remember what it was now but it was likely bullshit. Somehow this was enough for the TikTok sniffer dog algorithm to kick into gear and all of a sudden my foryou page will just littered with side hustles and get rich quick schemes.

Inevitably I watched some of them (probably more than I should) and mostly I found them totally idiotic. I mean who wants to walk to make $15 a year. I wish that one would stop showing up. Even the affiliate marketing posts were just manipulative and obviously misleading with bold claims of $10,000 a month and you can quit your job now... blah blah.

I took all of that with a healthy dose of scepticism, as should you, because it doesn't happen like that. In the end there were so many that I got sick of it and consciously scrolled quickly past to try and redirect the sniffer dog. THEN all of a sudden there was an Aussie creator who claimed to be telling the truth and this caught my attention. My no bullshit affiliate marketing journey....

Maybe she resonated with me because she was an Aussie but I watched and followed her journey (maybe you've done the same with me or someone else) BUT she seemed genuine and after a few weeks made her first commission. "Well that didn't seem too bad" I said to myself and I looked into what she was doing (still with a heavy dose of caution) and finally pushed the button on taking a course.

I'm still in the course and they say to do a website I'm doing a website. They say to do a blog so I'm doing a blog... I am all in and at the end I will either make a little bit of money or I won't BUT I need to stay the course (pardon the pun) and see what might be possible.
